Sun Up is an inclusive festival where people from all walks of life can come together to share a love of reggae, dancehall and Jamaican culture. We are a community that welcomes all: no matter your race, religion, country of origin, ability, ethnicity, gender, age or sexual orientation you are permitted to dance.

Sun Up has a zero tolerance policy for discrimination and harassment of all kinds. Everyone who enters the festival (including all guests, crew and performers) are free to have fun and express themselves without any fear. No judgement, intimidation, harassment, violence, abuse or anti-social behaviour will be tolerated.

If anyone at the festival acts against this policy, we reserve the right to respond in any manner we deem necessary, including eviction from the site or reporting the incident to relevant local authorities.

If you witness or are subject to any behaviour that makes you feel uncomfortable whilst at Sun Up, please inform a member of staff or security as soon as possible. All complaints will be taken seriously, promptly addressed and dealt with sensitively and appropriately.

We encourage everyone involved with Sun Up to treat each other with dignity and respect.


The Sun Up Music Festival a family-friendly event that is open to all. Therefore, we maintain a strict entrance policy to ensure all of festival-goers have an enjoyable and safe experience. 

Please be aware, extra bag and body searches will be in operation this year, therefore do expect some queueing.  With this in mind, please be aware that restrictions are in place, and that it is at the discretion of the security staff to carry out bag and body searches where it is felt appropriate or necessary in order to enforce our policy.



Food & Drink (including Alcohol)

No food or drink is to be brought into the festival (including sealed bottles of water). There will be a fantastic selection of food stalls and bars to take advantage of.

Alcohol will be confiscated and disposed of at the festival entrance. Festival-goers should purchase all beverages from the festival bars. Festival bars reserve the right to refuse entry to any intoxicated persons. ‘Challenge 25’ will be in operation, so please bring along your ID.

Please bring an empty reusable bottle with you to refill.



Dogs & Pets

No dogs or pets will be allowed in the Festival, excluding service dogs


Prohibited Items: 

Items prohibited in the Festival area include (but are not limited to*): 

• Glass bottles and containers 

• BBQs 

• Bicycles 

• Illegal substances, including the formerly ‘legal highs’ 

• Ball games 

• Fireworks, flares and smoke canisters 

• Laser pointers or projectors 

• Any item that could be used as a weapon 

• Naked flames and candles 

• Large gazebos and structures

• umbrellas with a pointed tip
